The Dengue NS1, IgM, and IgG tests are blood tests used to diagnose dengue infection at different stages. The NS1 (Non-Structural Protein 1) antigen test is used for early detection, usually within the first 1–5 days of fever, as it identifies the presence of dengue virus protein in the blood. The IgM antibody test becomes positive after 4–5 days of infection and indicates a recent or current dengue infection. The IgG antibody test appears later, usually after 7–10 days, and suggests a past infection or secondary dengue infection. These tests together help determine whether the infection is early, recent, or old. They are commonly used in combination for accurate diagnosis, monitoring disease progression, and guiding treatment decisions. Early detection through these tests is important to prevent complications and manage dengue effectively.
