These tests are used to screen and diagnose common sexually transmitted infections (STIs). HIV 1 & 2 (Ag/Ab – 4th Generation) detects early HIV infection by identifying both antigens and antibodies. VDRL / RPR is a screening test for syphilis, while TPHA is used to confirm syphilis infection. HBsAg detects active Hepatitis B infection, and Anti-HCV identifies exposure to Hepatitis C virus. HSV 1 & 2 IgG/IgM tests help detect past or recent herpes infection. Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae are highly sensitive molecular tests used to detect these bacterial STDs, even in early or asymptomatic stages.
