CA 15-3 + CEA Breast Cancer Profile Test is a blood test used to measure tumor markers that may be associated with breast cancer. CA 15-3 (Cancer Antigen 15-3) is often elevated in some patients with breast cancer, especially in advanced or metastatic cases. CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen) is another marker that may increase in breast cancer and certain other cancers or non-cancerous conditions. This test is mainly used to monitor treatment response, track disease progression, and detect recurrence after treatment. It is not typically used alone to diagnose breast cancer because marker levels can rise due to other medical conditions as well. Doctors may recommend this test along with imaging tests like mammography, ultrasound, biopsy, or other clinical evaluations.
