The Dengue IgG, IgM, and NS1 tests can be performed by two methods: Rapid test and ELISA, and both differ in accuracy, time, and usage. Rapid tests are quick screening tests that give results within 15–20 minutes and are easy to perform at clinics or home collection settings. However, they are less sensitive and may sometimes give false positive or false negative results. On the other hand, ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) is a laboratory-based method that takes a few hours but provides more accurate and reliable results. ELISA has higher sensitivity and specificity, making it better for confirmation of dengue infection. In terms of detection, both methods check NS1 for early infection and IgM/IgG for later stages, but ELISA can detect even low levels more precisely. Rapid tests are useful for quick initial screening, while ELISA is preferred for final diagnosis, monitoring, and clinical decision-making.
