For sample collection, laboratories commonly require citrated plasma collected in a light-blue-top sodium citrate tube, with the tube filled correctly to maintain the required blood-to-anticoagulant ratio. Fasting is generally not required. Test interpretation should be done along with the patient's clinical history and other coagulation investigations.
